Performance (Parts)

Dear Stranger/Seven Sundays · 2013 · London

I hid postcards in London, asking strangers to describe their Sundays to me. Half of the postcards I left in bookshops, exhibition halls, in the tube, and on park benches returned. I went back to London and spent a week there, following a different person’s trail every day.

“Here, at midnight!! · 2011

In the exhibition a story was read every night at midnight. A reader (a different person every night) appeared, sat down in front of an installation, and read aloud a story about a nightmare that gets mixed up with reality. After reading the story the reader disappeared, leaving the audience alone.

Shifting · 2011

Every 8 hours an alarms sounds and three people enter a stage drawn with wall paint onto the floor. Person One picks up a piece of paper and reads out the poem that is printed on it, then passes it on to person Two, who dips the paper into water and hands it to person Three, who puts it onto the wall, rubs out the words, steps back, and switches on a reading light between her and Person One, who picks up a piece of paper and reads out a poem…

With many thanks to Friederike Layer and George Kosmopoulos!
